RABBI: TEBOW SUPER BOWL WIN WOULD LEAD CHRISTIANS TO BURN MOSQUES & BANISH IMMIGRANTS

The Tim Tebow debate took a bizarre turn this week when a Connecticut Rabbi wrote a scathing, Onion-like article for Jewish Week, a newspaper serving the Jewish community in New York City.

The piece, which was written by Rabbi Joshua Hammerman and seems more like a parody than a literal proclamation from a religious leader, claims that a Tebow Super Bowl win would lead to total and utter Christian-led chaos. And we’re not just talking angry football fans engaging in verbal outbursts — we’re talking mosque-burning hatred (among other purported antics)

Hammerman, the head spiritual leader of Temple Beth El in Connecticut, leads the article by writing, “I’ve got a Tim Tebow problem.” After setting the 24-year-old football player up as “a poster boy of the Christian right,” Hammerman says, “Now tiny Tim has grown and is on track to possibly appear in this season’s Super Bowl – on the field – and that is what scares me.”

As the rabbi continues, he claims that the game of football is more popular than even God here in America (a point that many Americans would likely debate). His semi-lighthearted words quickly devolve. “When you combine the religion that is football with the religion that is religion, the mix can be dangerously flammable,” he writes.

Of course, he manages to slip in some leftist statements about Republican presidential candidates as well. He writes:

When supposedly well-educated candidates publicly question overwhelming scientific evidence on climate change and evolution and then gain electoral traction by fabricating conspiracies about a war on Christmas, these are not rational times

Here’s where a bizarre turn is made. Hammerman writes that, should Tebow win the Super Bowl, the faithful (i.e. Christians) will “do insane things.“ The rabbi goes on to explain that a win would ”buoy [Tebow's] faithful” and lead to mosque burnings, gay bashing and the banishment of immigrants.

Yes, that’s correct: A legitimate religious leader contends that Tebow’s open faith and a subsequent Super Bowl win would lead to violence and discrimination. Here were his exact words:

If Tebow wins the Super Bowl, against all odds, it will buoy his faithful, and emboldened faithful can do insane things, like burning mosques, bashing gays and indiscriminately banishing immigrants. While America has become more inclusive since Jerry Falwell’s first political forays, a Tebow triumph could set those efforts back considerably.

This commentary was so startling that the Blaze decided to hold off on writing about Hammerman’s article until we could speak with him further to verify his views. Unfortunately, he was unresponsive to e-mail and phone messages.

On Human Events, JWF writes, “It appears this Hammerman is merely a far-left crank who happens to be a rabbi. He diminishes the good work of non-political rabbis and pretty much anyone of faith. He should be ashamed.” Many on the right, it seems, agree.

Even Fox News’ Bob Beckel, hardly a conservative, slammed Hammerman’s views:

Ironically, Hammerman writes a column for Jewish Week entitled “Hammerman on Ethics.” Yes,ethics. As of Thursday morning, it appeared as though Jewish Week had removed the offensive piece.

On his blog, the rabbi confirmed that the article was removed, writing, “The piece has been taken down and I apologize to all those whom it has offended. Some additional reflections will be forthcoming. Thank you.”

ARE ATHEISTS ATTEMPTING TO INCREASE THEIR POLITICAL INFLUENCE AROUND THE GLOBE?

Recognizing that politics truly is power, atheists are beginning to work their way into the electoral process.

With their primary goal centering upon fighting the continued influence of religion, these “freethinkers” (as they call themselves) are seeking to instill godlessness through their potential placement in elected positions of power and influence.

It seems as though atheists, secularists and others are frustrated over their inability to promote their views on social issues like doctor-assisted suicide and abortion, among others (this stands mainly for European atheists, though similar battles exist in America and in other nations). These are traditionally issues that Christian denominations, among others, take staunch standpoints on — standpoints that often dominate the political discourse.

It seems that Switzerland is the epicenter of what could become a global effort. In Zurich, voters will take to the polls later this month. For the first time in the nation’s history, citizens will have the opportunity to vote for a slate of non-believers. Andreas Kyriacou, 42, who is running for public office, explains why atheists and freethinkers are throwing their names onto the ballot:

“We decided we had to stand up and tell our politicians that it’s time they recognised that there are a lot of non-religious people in their electorate.
We, and probably a lot of Swiss people who have never thought about humanism or atheism, are tired of the influence the churches and religion still exert in this country.

There is a group for Bible study in our parliament, but no cross-party humanist group, though we know many of the deputies are non-believers.”

The nation hosted “Denkfest” (i.e. “Think Festival”) last month. The event, which was put on by the Swiss Freethinkers Association in Zurich, brought together philosophers, scientists and other “freethinkers.” Below, watch the blogger panel that was hosted during the get-together:

The movement and thirst for more influence isn’t limited to Switzerland. Others who believe that religion has a stronghold over the sociopolitical realm are also voicing their interest in countering faith in the public sphere. Delegates from India, Uganda, Nigeria, Argentina and Brazil went to the World Humanist Congress in Oslo, Norway, back in August to address these concerns. Reuters reports:

Like their counterparts in Europe and North America, they argue that morality is based in human nature and does not need a father-figure god to back it up with punishment in an afterlife, in which they do not believe.
“There are more godless groups in the world than ever before,” Sonja Eggerickx, a Belgian schools inspector who is president of the International Humanist and Ethical Union, told the Congress.

In America, “freethinkers” are a growing breed. Atheists, as the Blaze has reported, are growing in influence in the American military and society as a whole. Various groups that oppose religioncontinue to battle religious institutions and organizations in the courts.

One wonders: Will a growing list of non-believers attempt to influence elections here in America as well? While Christianity is still somewhat of a litmus test here in the U.S., there’s no telling what the future holds as secularists continue to grow in both numbers and boldness.

The mainstream media have started a campaign against traditional marriage. On NBC’s “Today,” Anchor Ann Curry presented “a nearly seven-minute piece on the rapid increase of single women in society by touting ‘a new spin on romance, dating, and what some are calling the end of traditional marriage.’”

NBC Correspondent Jenna Wolfe stated: “A new report says more women are choosing to be single and loving every minute of it.” Like in so many television shows, films, and commercials men are made to look foolish and unnecessary.

NBC brought author and single woman Kate Bolick onto the show, where she tried to make the case that “Today marriage is an option, it’s not a necessity, the way it once was.” The Today report also quoted screenwriter Maria Maggenti who proclaimed what she believed are the virtues of singlehood: “I’m single. I’m happy. My life is filled with love, and friends, and — and family, and — and good work that I love.”

The next day, CBS’s “Early Show” continued the anti-marriage onslaught describing it as an “unnatural” institution and a “morality cage.”

Logan Levkoff, a contributor to the liberal Huffington Post, added her own anti-marriage point of view: “There’s no question that marriage is a social construct that I think does not apply to everyone these days. And now that women are taking over the world, we don’t need you as much.”

Erica Hill followed up after Levkoff’s anti-male theme: “There was a time when women needed a husband. And there are so many places in the world where they do, because otherwise they can’t work, they can’t support their families, they can’t take care of their children. They needed that financial aspect, that financial security. Well now, women take care of themselves.”

All of this reminds me of the novel World Without Men (1958) (revised in 1972 and reissued as Alph) written by Charles Eric Maine. Thomas F. Bertonneau writes:

[W]hile not rising to the artistic level of the Orwell and Huxley masterpieces, World Without Men merits being rescued from the large catalogue of 1950′s paperback throwaways, not least because of Maine’s vision of an ideological dystopia is based on criticism, not of socialism or communism per se nor of technocracyper se, but rather of feminism. Maine saw in the nascent feminism of his day (the immediate postwar period) a dehumanizing and destructive force, tending towards totalitarianism, which had the potential to deform society in radical, unnatural ways. Maine grasped that feminism – the dogmatic delusion that women are morally and intellectually superior to men – derived its fundamental premises from hatred of, not respect for, the natural order; he grasped also that feminism entailed a fantastic rebellion against sexual dimorphism, which therefore also entailed a total rejection of inherited morality

There’s a silver lining in all of this male and marriage bashing. With fewer liberals getting married, there will be fewer liberals having children. In the end, that is, in the future, there will be fewer liberals.

With this anti-marriage background, I offer a “Modest Proposal” (please read the entire article before commenting) to take the process a step further by supporting abortion on demand for all liberals. Not only would it support their anti-marriage and pro-abortion views, but it would also address their concern for the environment, specifically, over-population.

Population “experts” tell us that we are heading for critical mass where population growth will soon out-pace food supplies. Water, arable land, and natural resources are in limited supply. Such concerns, we are told, affect us all, regardless of political affiliation. One mouth is just as hungry as another.

One way to avert an over-population calamity is to shrink the population by pro-active means. Some prominent billionaires have devoted their after-tax fortunes to such a task. But wouldn’t it be best to eliminate only those who are true problems, those who lack social utility? I believe “useless eaters” is the appropriate phrase. A bit of discrimination is needed based on a studied statistical analysis. A simple assessment of purpose and need are in order to determine who should breed, all for a better world.

In keeping with liberal policies, birth control methods of all kinds should be funded by tax dollars. Make them cheap and easy to procure. Now if we can only get the right people to take them. Liberals should be the first to self-limit their progeny since abortion is their religion, and we don’t want to discriminate on their right to exercise it. We should make every inhibitor to reproduction legal to them and those within their circle of influence. Of course, we’ll look the other way if they choose some illegal methods. Anything to support their cause.

Associate Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said she believed the landmark Roe v. Wade decision on abortion was predicated on the Supreme Court majority’s desire to diminish “populations that we don’t want to have too many of.” Of course, there is nothing new in what Ginsburg said. The American Birth Control League (which eventually became Planned Parenthood) was founded for this very purpose. In 1939 Margaret Sanger, author of The Pivot of Civilization, started “The Negro Project.” She called on black preachers to support sterilization:

“We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population

The authors of Freakonomics, which has sold more than three million copies, assert that there might be a link between legalized abortion and the reduction of crime.[1] This is logical. If crimes are committed by people who are alive, and you kill some of them before they can commit crimes, crime will be reduced. Since more crimes are committed by “certain groups” (also see here), it would be best to target those groups for abortions.

This will mean fewer liberals in the future. While pro-abortion liberals are doing the environmentally friendly and politically correct thing, conservatives with their large families will dominate the culture in a generation or two. At least one very liberal columnist has noticed the problem: “[F]or the past 30 years or so, conservatives — particularly those of the right-wing red-state Christian strain — have been out-breeding liberals by a margin of at least 20 percent, if not far more. . . . Libs just aren’t procreating like they could/should be.”[2]

Many of you may be surprised at my support of these actions. Much of what I’ve said is satire, following in the tradition of Jonathan Swift, to make a point. It was in 1792 that he wrote “A Modest Proposal for Preventing the Children of Poor People in Ireland from Being a Burden to their Parents or Country, and for Making them Beneficial to the Public.” And what was the proposal? Swift suggested that the impoverished Irish might ease their economic troubles by selling their children as food for rich gentlemen and ladies. He wrote his Proposal to force the people of Ireland to look at the way they were treating the poor.

Maybe it’s time that we get pro-abortionists to look at the long-term implications of abortion. The black community should take a hard look since there is a disproportionate percentage of black children being aborted, and yet blacks for the most part continue to support government officials who are pro-abortion.

The Bible tells us, “Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will also be like him. Answer a fool as his folly deserves, that he not be wise in his own eyes. (Prov. 26:4–5).

IS THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD INFILTRATING THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT?

Over the past few months, the Blaze has explored the Muslim Brotherhood’s increasing influence here in America and abroad. This week, CBN’s Erick Stakelbeck produced a new report that touts the shocking allegation that the radical group has already begun working its way into the American government.

Stakelbeck describes the Brotherhood as “the first modern terrorists and the forerunner of al-Qaeda.” Following 9/11, the al-Qaeda became somewhat of a household name in the United States. But while most Americans are familiar with the infamous radical Islamic cohort, many likely don’t know a great deal about the Brotherhood.

Below, watch Stakelbeck’s most recent news report, which makes a number of startling claims about the group’s apparent goals and mission here in America:

Following the Arab Spring, which has led to intense turmoil as well as the uprooting of governmental structures in the Middle East, the Brotherhood has purportedly used unrest to gain precedence in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Syria and Jordan. In his report, Stakelbeck discussed the notion that America is on the list of governmental targets that the Islamist group seeks to infiltrate.

Former FBI Special Agent John Guandolo explains that the Brotherhood is already ensuring that its influence and power seeps into American government. ”Their goal is primarily deception, manipulation and intelligence gathering,” Guandolo says. He continues:

“What we’re seeing not just inside the White House, but inside the government entities, the national security entities, the State Department — is a strong push by the Muslim Brotherhood to get their people not just into operational positions, but policy positions — deeper, long term, bureaucratic positions.

According to Guandalo, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) is one of the operatives working here in America. As Stakelbeck reports:

In 2007, ISNA was named as an un-indicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing trial in American history.
Likewise, the FBI has uncovered internal Muslim Brotherhood documents naming ISNA as “one of our organizations and the organizations of our friends.”

If true, this would certainly be concerning. At his inauguration, President Barack Obama asked former ISNA president Ingrid Mattson to deliver a prayer. Additionally, at a recent White House dinner, Stakelbeck writes that the current head of ISNA, Mohammed Majid, sat only feet away from the president. Oddly, Patrick Poole of Pajamas Media claims that Majid’s name was subsequently missing from the White House list of attendees.

CBN and Stakelbeck have covered the Brotherhood and its thirst for power before. Last month, the network did a special, which included interviews with both Guandolo and Poole. Watch the video, below:

As the Blaze has been reporting for months, the Brotherhood is seeking a prominent role in Egyptian politics following the fall of Hosni Mubarak. Some who are associated with the political party have also been calling for Israel to be punished. Glenn Beck, among others, has warned about the Brotherhood’s potential exploitation of the situation in the Middle East many times before.

Back in June, the Blaze reported on the Obama administration’s outreach to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. Though it has been described as “limited” in nature, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has said that the administration wants to engage every group in the region, so long as they espouse nonviolence.

And in August, the Blaze brought you self-described liberal Marxist Tarek Fatah‘s warning about the group’s attempt to embed itself in American government. He said, “Instead of bringing victory over the fascist forces of the Muslim Brotherhood, we now recognize that their infiltration is right up to the American White House, but we can’t say that.”

OLIVE GARDEN: AMERICAN FLAG DISPLAY WOULD ‘DISRUPT THE DINING EXPERIENCE’

80-year-old Marti Warren thought she was doing a good thing a little over a month ago when she booked a local Olive Garden restaurant in Oxford, Alabama, to host a Kiwanis club awards banquet. The chapter president got a rude awakening the night of the gathering, however, when restaurant staff refused to allow her to bring an American flag inside the restaurant.

Warren, who lived through World War II and was later part of her local desegregation movement, said, “This is not my country. This is not my country I grew up with.”

The justly outraged Warren told WBRC-TV, “I was so angry. I felt like I had been slapped in the face”:

That slap came from the Oxford Olive Garden. One hour before the Golden K Kiwanis club‘s awards banquet the restaurant manager told Warren she couldn’t bring in their banner or even an American flag. “I said having known this earlier you can bet we never would have eaten here. And I said if we had time we would have gone to McDonald’s because we know they are American all the way through,” said Warren

In response, Olive Garden’s parent company, Orlando-based Darden Restaurants, said in a statement:

“Like all Americans we have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for the American flag and everything it symbolizes. In fact, we periodically provide American flag collar pins to our employees to wear while serving our guests. We understand and appreciate the way some people have reacted to the situation in Oxford and we’re very sorry if this decision has caused them any concern. The Oxford Olive Garden does not have a private dining area. To be fair to everyone and avoid disrupting the dining experience for all other guests, they’re unable to accommodate flags or banners of any type in the dining room.But Warren says that’s not what the restaurant told her:

In fact she says they told her she’d be in banquet room three. And as for being in the way, they were seated in the back by the kitchen. “I resent that. I do resent that. I‘m about truthfulness and that’s not truthful,” said Warren.

While the American flag was not present during the Kiwanis club banquet, Warren urged the group to close their eyes, picture the most “beautiful” American flag and recite the pledge of allegiance.

Warren is not taking things lying down either. She has vowed to boycott Olive Garden along with all other Darden restaurants and has urged others to do the same.

“Word of mouth is powerful and if people find this out and decide not to patronage these places…it will hurt them in their pocket,” said Warren.

It is probably worth noting that just last month, Darden Restaurants agreed to partner with Michelle Obama’s “Partnership for a Healthier America” by cutting the calorie and sodium levels of menu items by 10 percent within the next five years and 20 percent within the next 10 years.

Thousands of Chaplains Refusing Pentagon Directive

On September 30, 2011, the Pentagon issued a directive to all military chaplains to perform same-sex marriage ceremonies and to make military chapels available for any such private ceremonies.

In response to the Pentagon directive, the Catholic Archdiocese for Military Service issued a statement that no Catholic chaplains serving in the military will perform or participate in any same-sex marriage ceremonies at any military chapels. In conjunction with the Catholic response, members of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty have issued a statement indicating that they will also not participate in performing same-sex ceremonies.

The Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty represents over 2,000 military chaplains. Serving as a military chaplain for 28 years, now retired Col. Ron Crews, executive director of the organization said,

“They made a very strong statement saying that no Catholic chaplains serving in the military will participate in any same-sex ceremonies at any chapels. We appreciate that strong stand. So we just wanted to let the Department of Defense know that it’s not only the Catholic chaplains, but that some 2,000 chaplains who come from evangelical backgrounds are saying our chaplains will not participate in same-sex ceremonies in the military.”

Col. Crews also said that they are petitioning Congress to pass a right of conscience clause to be added to the revised code allowing military chaplains the right of not being forced to conduct or be involved in any activity, such as performing same-sex marriage ceremonies, that goes against their religious beliefs and what they strongly believe the Bible to say about homosexuality.

I agree with the actions being taken by the Catholic and evangelical chaplains groups in making a stand for biblical principles. The Bible teaches us to be submissive to those placed in authority over us, but it also stipulates that to do so as long as it does not go against the will of God. First and foremost we are required to remain faithful and true to what God says in the Bible and then to those in authority over us. And in the case of same-sex ceremonies, the chaplains are following the directions from God and refusing to perform ceremonies that according to the Bible would be an abomination

I stand and salute all the military chaplains taking this stand, knowing that it could cost them their military careers and pensions. I also will continue to pray for them for wisdom and stamina in what is sure to become a military and congressional battle

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (AP) — More than two decades after Scott Anderson told his California congregation that he was gay and therefore must resign as its pastor, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is preparing to welcome him back with mostly open arms.

Anderson will be ordained Saturday in his new home of Madison, Wis., as the denomination’s first openly gay minister, marking the latest mainline Protestant church to move toward accepting homosexual relationships.

During a recent interview, Anderson, 56, recalled being in the closet from 1983 to 1990 while serving as a minister in Sacramento. He told the congregation the truth and resigned as pastor after a couple learned he was gay and tried to use the information against him.

“That was really the best and worst moment of my life,” Anderson said. “It was the best because I was able to claim for the first time who I was as a gay man. That was incredibly empowering. But there was also the sadness, the grief of leaving the ministry and what I loved.”

Saturday’s ordination at Covenant Presbyterian Church was made possible by decades of debate over whether openly gay people should be allowed to serve in the church. The church constitution used to include language requiring that clergy live “in fidelity within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, or chastity in singleness.”

The Presbyterian national assembly last year endorsed removing that rule. The change was approved in May by a majority of the denomination’s 173 regional church bodies.

Jennifer Sauer, who attends Anderson’s church, said she was thrilled about his upcoming ordination.

“Anyone who knows Scott sees his extraordinary gift of ministry, his ability to preach the word, his compassion, his humility,” said Sauer, 41, of Madison. “If there have been any negative rumblings at all, I sure haven’t heard about it.”

But some conservatives who disapprove of ordaining homosexuals have threatened to leave, said Tom Hay, the director of operations for the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church.

“The Episcopalians, the Lutherans, the United Church of Christ have all made this step and all have experienced losses,” he said. “I would expect we will, too. I would grieve that and hope we can find better solutions than to break apart.”

Several reasons have been cited for the loosened restrictions: the trend in broader American society toward accepting same-sex relationships, decreased interest in continuing the debate, and the departure of some conservative churches from presbyteries, which changed the balance of votes in some regions.

Anderson said he felt a calling to the ministry when he was a sophomore in high school, several years before he became aware of his sexual preference.

But he wasn’t convinced of his career decision. He studied political science at the University of California, Davis and considered a law career. Eventually, he decided to attend a seminary.

“In my first year there I fell in love with another man,” he said. “At that point I had to make a decision: Do I follow the call and stay in the closet, or come out and be honest about who I am and leave the seminary?”

At that point the calling was strong enough that he remained. But when he was later forced to come out he was in emotional turmoil. He expected anger and rejection when he told his congregation of about 400 he would leave, perhaps for graduate school. Instead he received love and affirmation — along with a check to cover the entire two years of schooling.

He spent a year away from the church coming to grips with who he was as an outed gay man. His parents were shocked at first but became more supportive as they realized he was the same person they’d always known.

Eventually, Anderson found his way back to a different Presbyterian congregation. Despite his previous experiences, he said being Presbyterian was part of his spiritual DNA.

He remained active in church life, and is now executive director of the Wisconsin Council of Churches in Sun Prairie, near Madison. His ordination means he’ll be ordained to the specific job he already has. That means the only change is that he’ll now be able to administer sacraments such as communion. He could also become a parish minister, a role he said he might consider in three or four years.

Anderson said he was grateful about his upcoming ordination. He predicted the trend would make the Presbyterian church stronger in the long run.

“It really says to the wider culture, here we have a church that not only talks about being created in the image of God and you’re all created to be in relationship with one another, but also wants to live that message,” he said. “That’s going to give the Presbyterian church a lot more integrity in its witness to the Christian faith.”

Well, they might as well have kicked the Bible out the back door. There is no way that anyone that says they love the Lord and His word can say that being queer is okay. The Bible tells a different story abot sin being sin and is worthy of death. This story makes me want to puke, I might have to go take a shower just to get the filth off of me. MILITARY CHAPLAINS & RELIGIOUS LEADERS STRIKE BACK AT THE PENTAGON’S NEW GAY MARRIAGE RULES

On September 30, The Blaze reported that the Pentagon is now allowing military chaplains to perform same-sex marriages both on and off of military bases.

In response to the announcement, some chaplains are responding by refusing to perform gay marriages in military chapels and by asking Congress to intervene to prevent government facilities from being utilized to hold these matrimonies.

In last week’s memo, the Pentagon wrote:

“A military chaplain may participate in or officiate any private ceremony, whether on or off a military installation, provided that the ceremony is not prohibited by applicable state and local law.
Further a chaplain is not required to participate in or officiate a private ceremony if doing so would be in variance with the tenets of his or her religion.”

Fox News has more on the Pentagon’s changes:

Despite this proclamation, which allocates permission for clergy to wed same-sex couples, representatives of more than 2,000 military chaplains say that associated religious leaders won’t be taking the Pentagon up on the offer. According to the Associated Press:

The Rev. Ron Crews, executive director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty, and Archbishop Timothy Broglio, who represents Roman Catholic priests in the military, both say their chaplains won’t violate their faith tenets by marrying same-sex couples.

Aside from claiming that these marriages will not be conducted by their members, Crews and Broglio also claimed that the Pentagon‘s memo and declaration both ignore the federal government’s law that defines marriage as an institution between one man and one woman. According to Crews, Congress should intervene to prevent any federal facility from being used to violate this marriage law.

In a press release, Crews said:

“By dishonestly sanctioning the use of federal facilities for ‘marriage counterfeits’ that federal law and the vast majority of Americans have rejected, the Pentagon has launched a direct assault on the fundamental unit of society – husband and wife.”
We call once again for Congress to affirm that the federal definition of marriage applies to the Department of Defense and that no federal facilities may be used to circumvent federal law. In addition, we call on Congress to enact a ‘Right of Conscience’ clause in the Revised Title 10 code to ensure that no American, and especially not our service members, be forced to deny their religious beliefs.”

The movement against the Pentagon’s proclamation is ramping up on individual military installments as well. At West Point, the renowned military academy located outside of New York City, the Catholic Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity won’t be hosting any gay marriages. CBN has more:

“Holy Trinity is an actual Catholic parish, unlike the non-denominational chapels that are found on other military installations, and the only services held there are Catholic services,” Taylor Henry, director of public affairs and media relations for the Archdiocese, explained.
“The Catholic Church does not perform the sacrament of matrimony for same-sex couples,” he said.

As we reported, no chaplains will be forced to perform same-sex unions. Despite this protection, it seems that religious leaders — at least those who have spoken out thus far — are less than supportive of the Pentagon’s recent change of heart.

PAGAN PRIDE DAY’: KENTUCKY RESIDENTS CELEBRATE THEIR POLYTHEISTIC BELIEFS

It’s not uncommon for the religious to gather to celebrate their beliefs, while engaging in conversation and fellowship with one another. But a recent event in Louisville, Kentucky, may raise some curiosities among those who are unfamiliar with more uncommon religious beliefs. Locals came together recently to celebrate “Pagan Pride Day.”

“Pagan” is a term for an individual who embraces polytheism (the belief in multiple gods). But Merriam-Webster also defines the word as follows: “one who has little or no religion and who delights in sensual pleasures and material goods.” It was the individuals who subscribe to the former definition, though, that the gathering sought to celebrate. WDRB.com writes:

Wiccans, Asatru, and Druids are all considered Pagan religions, but anyone was invited to join the fun at Saturday’s event.

Mike Avery, the coordinator of Pagan Pride Day, claims that it’s, “…a celebration of all polytheistic religions.” He continued, saying that the event was intended to spread “information about different spiritual paths.”

The celebration is apparently centered around the fall harvest, a celebration that occurred many centuries ago. Avery says that people observed the harvest by counting their blessings over the abundance of food that came during the season.

The day of pagan pride, which looked somewhat like a typical community gathering or festival, featured jewelry, art and the like. Some participants dressed up — some even sold crafts.

According to the group’s Facebook page, entrance to the October 1, 2011 event was free as long as attendees brought canned food with them. The organizers planned to donate to a local food bank.

The Louisville event is apparently one of many pagan celebratory initiatives that take place annually around the globe.

Just another religion that is a false religion. These people really believe that they are alright in the eyes of God. The Bible speaks of people like this:

The pagans do not understand who God is because if they did, they wouldn't be caught up in this pagan religion. God is a jealous God, He said not to put idols before Him and that is just what they are doing.

Of Predestination and Election

Predestination to life is the everlasting purpose of God, whereby, before the foundations of the world were laid, He hath constantly decreed by His counsel secret to us, to deliver from curse and damnation those whom He hath chosen in Christ out of mankind, and to bring them by Christ to everlasting salvation as vessels made to honour. For whom he did foreknow, - “In this and the following verse the apostle shows how our calling is an argument that all things work together to advance our eternal happiness, by showing the several steps which the wisdom and goodness of God have settled, in order to complete our salvation. In order to this he first gives us, in this verse, the foundation and finishing, or the beginning and end, of the scheme of our redemption: For whom God did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son. To foreknow, here signifies to design before, or at the first forming of the scheme; to bestow the favor and privilege of being God’s people upon any set of men, Romans 11:2.

Rom 11:2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,

This is the foundation or first step of our salvation; namely, the purpose and grace of God, which was given us in Christ Jesus, before the world began, 2Timothy1:9.

2Ti 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Then, he knew or favored us; for in this sense the word to know is taken in a great variety of places, both in the Old and New Testaments. And as he knew the Gentiles then, when the scheme was laid, and before any part of it was executed, consequently, in reference to the execution of this scheme, he foreknew us. This is the first step of our salvation, and the end or finishing of it is our conformity to the Son of God in eternal glory, Romans 8:17,

Rom 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

which includes and supposes our moral conformity to him. When God knew us, at the forming of the Gospel scheme; or, when he intended to bestow on us the privilege of being his people; he then destinated or designed us to be conformed to the image of his Son; and, as he destinated or determined us then to this very high honor and happiness, he pre-destinated, fore-ordained, or pre-determined us to it. Thus we are to understand the foundation and finishing of the scheme of our salvation. The foundation is the foreknowledge, or gracious purpose of God; the finishing is our being joint heirs with Christ. Now, our calling or invitation (see on Romans 8:28 ) stands in connection with both these.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

1) It stands in connection with God’s foreknowledge; and so it is a true and valid calling: for we are called, invited, or chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, who may bestow his blessings upon any people, as may seem good in his sight, 1Peter 1:2; consequently, we have a good title to the blessings of the Gospel to which we are called or invited. And this was to be proved, that the Jew, to whom the apostle particularly wrote, might see that the Gentiles being now called into the Church of God was not an accidental thing, but a matter which God had determined when he conceived the Gospel scheme. Thus our calling is connected with God’s foreknowledge.

1Peter 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

2. It stands also in connection with our being conformed to the image of his Son; for we are invited by the Gospel to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ, 2Thessalonians 2:14. And therefore, supposing, what the apostle supposes, that we love God, it is certain, from our being called, that we shall be glorified with the sons of God; and so our calling proves the point, that all things should work together for our good in our present state, because it proves that we are intended for eternal glory; as he shows in the next verse. Article XVIII

Of obtaining eternal salvation only by the name of Christ

They also are to be had accursed that presume to say that every man shall be saved by the law or sect which he professeth, so that he be diligent to frame his life according to that law and the light of nature. For Holy Scripture doth set out to us only the name of Jesus Christ, whereby men must be saved.

Yes, only in the name of, JESUS CHRIST. God has a plan for our eternal salvation and it is the only way according to the Bible;

Act 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

And with that said, the Bible says in the name of, not names. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are who He is, not His names.

The Holy Ghost is Jesus in spirit form

These three titles refer to the different roles of the same God!

He is the Father in creation, Son in redemption, Holy Ghost in His body, the Church.

Article XIX

Of the Church

The visible Church of Christ is a congregation of faithful men, in the which the pure word of God is preached and the sacraments be duly ministered according to Christ's ordinance in all those things that of necessity are requisite to the same. As the Church of Jerusalem, Alexandria, and Antioch have erred: so also the Church of Rome hath erred, not only in their living and manner of ceremonies, but also in matters of faith.

Hebrews 11 The faith chapter:

Article XX

Of the Authority of the Church

The Church hath power to decree rites or ceremonies and authority in controversies of faith; and yet it is not lawful for the Church to ordain anything contrary to God's word written, neither may it so expound one place of Scripture, that it be repugnant to another. Wherefore, although the Church be a witness and a keeper of Holy Writ: yet, as it ought not to decree anything against the same, so besides the same ought it not to enforce anything to be believed for necessity of salvation.

The Bible says that we are not to change the Word of God. We are not to add to nor take away from the word of God.

ATHEISTS’ THREATS LEAD TOWN TO REMOVE CHRISTIAN CROSS FROM WATER TOWER

The Freedom From Religion Foundation, America’s largest organization of atheists and agnostics, continues to use the legal system to purge the nation of references and symbols related to faith and religion (as we reported yesterday, the group will hold its 34th annual convention this weekend).

In one of the foundation’s latest assaults on faith, FFRF is demanding that the town of Whiteville, Tennessee, remove a cross that stands at the top of a local water tower. The atheist group first requested that the cross be taken down last December, citing a citizen who is uncomfortable with its presence. The Jackson Sun reports:

The Freedom From Religion Foundation says the cross, located on public property, is in violation of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof

If the town refused to remove the cross, FFRF threatened legal action against both the local government and its mayor, James Bellar. In a letter to the town, Alvin Harris, who is an attorney for FFRF, wrote, ”This letter is my clients’ final demand that the cross be permanently removed from the Whiteville water tower.”

In the letter, Harris gave the town a 30-day time frame during which the organization wanted to see the cross come down. If the town didn’t comply, FFRF planned to file a lawsuit, citing a violation of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Bellar harshly responded to the atheists‘ and agnostics’ claims, saying, “They’re the terrorists. It’s not us…It will be a shallow victory for them if they win.”

According to WREG, Bellar also said,
“Whiteville is a religious town. I’m just sorry we have one individual here who is offended by this. I just think it’s a sad day when people in a small rural Western Tennessee town like Whiteville have to be the object of attention for non-believers.”
Despite his opposition to FFRF, Bellar has decided that the cross will be taken down and moved, as the town cannot afford to battle the organization in the courts. While this is certainly the downside for those who support its presence, the mayor has announced that the cross will be placed on private property on a local highway. It is here, he says, that the cross will actually be seen by an even larger audience.
I thought this was a free country. How can a cross harm anyone? It's okay for a atheist to promote their religion, (Freethinkers), their religion offends me, but you don't see me trying to sue them for their beliefs. The reason for them suing is simply because we are Christians. They just can't stand our religion as being right. Why don't the atheists just move to another country that are, Freethinkers like them. This is a Christian country, it's a shame that one individual can upset a whole town because they don't believe. Nobody is asking them to except our beliefs, so, whats the problem, he doesn't have to look at the cross, I mean it was on a water tower for heavens sake. It's just another right that has been taken away and against the Christian way of life..

Seeking 'climate change adaption,' crackdown on firearms, gun sellers

The newly appointed chief of President Obama's Social Innovation and Civic Participation Council is a member of a globalist organization whose activists can be found throughout the Obama administration.

Jonathan Greenblatt was appointed the new head of Obama's Social Innovation Unit earlier this month.

Greenblatt is the founder of a civic service company that works in partnership with Google and the Huffington Post. He has several ties to Google.

WND reported last weekthat until his appointment to the Obama administration, Greenblatt served as the director of a social justice group funded by George Soros.

The organization, the Aspen Institute, works closely with Soros and even was reportedly used by the billionaire in a failed attempt to engineer the defeat of President Bush in the 2004 elections.

Now it has emerged that Greenblatt is a member of the globalist group Pacific Council on International Policy, or PCIP. He previously chaired PCIP's energy and environment committee and served on its globalization committee.

The PCIP was founded in 1995 in partnership with the Council on Foreign Relations.

The group says it is the "premier international affairs organization focused on policy issues of special resonance to the West Coast."

Its goals include "building our network of globally oriented business, civic and government leaders." Also, the group aims to convene exchanges with global policy makers and opinion leaders while partnering with organizations around the world to "promote mutual understanding and coordinated action."

The group recently led a taskforce on so-called climate change adaption. Its recommendations include building government funds to support large-scale "climate adaption" projects.

PCIP last year released a major report on U.S.-Mexico border security that recommended the U.S. government crackdown on gun sellers.

The report says: "The United States should intensify efforts to curtail the smuggling of firearms, ammunition and bulk cash into Mexico by aggressively investigating gun sellers, regulating gun shows, reinstituting the Clinton-era ban on assault weapons, conducting targeted inspections of southbound traffic and providing leads to a more robust Mexican Customs authority."

The PCIP is funded by the Ford Foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the Rockefeller Foundation.

In an online question-and-answer session with the PICP, Greenblatt told the group he believes the world "needs to pursue policies that blend a long-term commitment to sustainable development with opportunities for widespread economic prosperity in emerging markets."

Asked to list his favorite global resources online, Greenblatt says he follows the Twitter account of economist Jeffrey Sachs.

Sachs is a Soros-funded economist. He is a member of the Soros-funded Institute for New Economic Thinking, or INET, which holds yearly conferences in the mountains of Bretton Woods, N.H., that openly seek to restructure the world economy. Last year, Sachs keynoted the event.

Sachs also founded the Millennium Promise Alliance, a nonprofit organization that says it is dedicated to ending extreme poverty and hunger.

Critics have called the Millennium group, which is funded by Soros to the tune of $50 million, a wealth-redistribution scheme.

Investor's Business Daily reported the Millennium goal called for a "currency transfer tax," a "tax on the rental value of land and natural resources," a "royalty on worldwide fossil energy projection – oil, natural gas, coal," "fees for the commercial use of the oceans, fees for airplane use of the skies, fees for use of the electromagnetic spectrum, fees on foreign exchange transactions, and a tax on the carbon content of fuels."

Global group abounds in Obama administration

Meanwhile, multiple Obama administration members are also activists in the PCIP.

Earlier this week,WND reportedObama's pick for Commerce secretary is a PICIP member.

Obama's ambassador to France, Charles Rivkin, is a member of the PCIP. Last October, he invited a 29-member delegation from the PCIP to a conference in France for the stated purpose of discussing Arab and Islamic relations in the country.

Rivkin was at the center of a scandal when WikiLeaks released a cable in which he proposed the U.S. Embassy in France initiate a multipronged effort to "engage" and help to "empower" France's Muslim minorities.

Rivkin called the effort a "Minority Engagement Strategy," which was largely directed at Muslims in France.

WND found other PCIP members inside the Obama administration.

James B. Steinberg, deputy secretary of state, serves on the PICP board of directors. He also serves on the science and security board of the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, a journal that argued during the Cold War for the U.S. to hand its nuclear weapons to an international organization.

The Bulletin, as WND reported, was founded by scientists who were accused of spying for the Soviets and passing along vital nuclear secrets.

Vilma S. Martinez, U.S. ambassador to Argentina, is the chairman of the PCIP's Mexico Study Group.

Former Utah Gov. Jon M. Huntsman Jr., a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, was appointed by Obama as ambassador to China in August 2009. He is a PCIP founding director.

Jeffrey L. Bleich, Obama's appointment for U.S. ambassador to Australia, is a PCIP member.

Diana Farrell, deputy director of the National Economic Council, is a member of the PCIP as well as the Council on Foreign Relations and the Bretton Woods Committee. She is a frequent speaker on U.S. global engagement.

Byron Auguste, a member of Obama's White House Council for Community Solutions, serves on the PCIP board. He is also on the board of trustees of the Center for American Progress, which is funded by Soros and led by John Podesta, who served as co-chairman of Obama's transition team.

Last year, PCIP member Steven Myers joined the State Department's advisory committee on international economic policy.

John B. Emerson, appointee for Obama's advisory committee for trade policy and negotiations, is a member of both the PCIP and CFR.

In April, Obama nominated PCIP member Janet Yellen to serve as vice chairman of the Federal Reserve.

PCIP member Alan D. Bersin was appointed commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Last March, Obama appointed PCIP member Michael Camunez to the position of assistant secretary for market access and compliance in the Department of Commerce.

Ernest James Wilson, a member of the PCIP board, was elected chairman of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in September 2009. He served as a policy advisor on Obama's presidential transition team on matters of communication technology and public diplomacy.

Organization accuses U.S. of 'structural racism'

Greenblatt, meanwhile, also serves as director of the Impact Economy Initiative at the Aspen Institute.

Aspen's mission statement says the nonprofit seeks "to foster values-based leadership, encourag[e] individuals to reflect on the ideals and ideas that define a good society, and ... provide a neutral and balanced venue for discussing and acting on critical issues."

The group leads a number of social justice global initiatives and espouses an ideology that government intervention is necessary to fix what it claims are various social and racial injustices that permeate U.S. society.

Aspen's website says the group is dedicated to repairing what it terms "structural racism."

The group contends that "public policies, institutional practices, cultural representations, and other norms work in various, often reinforcing ways to perpetuate racial group inequity in every key opportunity area, from health, to education, to employment, to income and wealth."

A member of Aspen's board is Henry Louis Gates Jr., a Harvard professor who sparked a national race controversy in July 2009 when Obama criticized local Cambridge police who had arrested Gates after a burglary had been reported on his property.

Aspen runs a program that provides training and seminars for federal judges.

Soros has provided significant funding to the Aspen Institute. His Open Society Institute has provided more than $400,000 to the group since 2004.

The New Yorker magazine reported on a 2004 "clandestine summit meeting" that took place at the Aspen Institute.

"The participants, all Democrats, were sworn to secrecy," said the magazine, including Soros and four other billionaires who "shared a common goal: to use their fortunes to engineer the defeat of President George W. Bush in the 2004 election."

Soros himself spoke at numerous Aspen events, including a 2004 seminar entitled "America's Role in the Fight Against Global Poverty" that also featured Al Gore as a speaker.

Aspen hosted Soros in 2006 for a talk about his new book "The Age of Fallibility: Consequences of the War on Terror."

Discover the Networks notes that Jim Spiegelman, Aspen's director of communications, formerly worked as a "special assistant" to Soros.

Also, Arjun Gupta, who serves on Aspen's board of overseers, is a vice president at the Chatterjee Group, which advises the Soros Fund Management Group.

Meanwhile, Greenblatt is the founder and president of All for Good, an open source, Web-based initiative that says it seeks to engage more Americans in service. It has the largest database of volunteer listings ever compiled and provides content to a wide range of government, nonprofit and personal websites.

Greenblatt has stated he was inspired to found All for Good in December 2008 by Obama's call for more participatory civic service.

Greenblatt formerly served on the Technology and Innovation working group of the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition team.

All for Good was built by a group of volunteers from Google, the Craigslist Foundation and other organizations, reportedly with input from Arianna Huffington. The group currently maintains strategic partnerships with Google and the Huffington Post.

Newly resurfaced photographs show President Obama appearing and marching with members of the New Black Panther Party as he campaigned for president in Selma, Ala., in March 2007.

BigGovernment.com posted the photographs, reporting the images were captured from a Flickr photo-sharing account before they were scrubbed.

The photos are reportedly featured in a book set to be released tomorrow by J. Christian Adams, the Department of Justice whistleblower in the New Black Panther Party, or NBPP, voter intimidation case.

The book is titled "Injustice: Exposing the Racial Agenda of the Obama Justice Department."

Among the people visible in the pictures with Obama is NBPP Chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz, a defendant in the voter intimidation case that Attorney General Eric Holder dismissed in 2009.

Also present was the Panthers' "Minister of War," Najee Muhammed.

While the photos present new evidence of a possible relationship between Obama and the controversial black extremist group, WND was first to report in March 2008 that Obama met Shabazz.

Speaking to WND, Shabazz boasted he met Obama when the politician attended the 42nd anniversary of the voting rights marches in Selma in 2007.

"I have nothing but respect for Obama and for his pastor," said Shabazz, referring to Jeremiah Wright, Obama's former pastor of nearly 20 years.

Shabazz said in 2008 that aside from promoting black rights, he also supports Obama because he may take what he called a "less-biased" policy on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

"I have hopes he will change the U.S. government's position toward the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, because our position has been unwarranted bias. Time and time again the U.S. vetoed resolutions in the U.N. Security Council condemning [Israeli] human rights violation. ... I hope he shifts policy," Shabazz said.

But the extremist added he doesn't believe Obama could change America's policy regarding Israel very much, since, he said, "other, powerful lobbies" control U.S. foreign policy.

The NBPP is a controversial black extremist party whose leaders are notorious for their racist statements and for leading anti-white activism.

Shabazz himself has given scores of speeches condemning "white men" and Jews.

The NBPP's official platform states "white man has kept us deaf, dumb and blind," refers to the "white racist government of America," demands black people be exempt from military service and uses the word Jew repeatedly in quotation marks.

Shabazz has led racially divisive protests and conferences, such as the 1998 Million Youth March in which a few thousand Harlem youths reportedly were called upon to scuffle with police officers and speakers demanded the extermination of whites in South Africa.

The NBPP chairman was quoted at a May 2007 protest against the 400-year celebration of the settlement of Jamestown, Va., stating, "When the white man came here, you should have left him to die."

He claimed Jews engaged in an "African holocaust," and he has promoted the anti-Semitic urban legend that 4,000 Israelis fled the World Trade Center just prior to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

When Shabazz was denied entry to Canada in 2008 while trying to speak at a black-activist event, he blamed Jewish groups and claimed Canada "is run from Israel."

Canadian officials justified the action stating he has an "anti-Semitic" and "anti-police" record, but some reports pointed to what was termed a minor criminal history for the decision to deny him entry.

He similarly blamed Jews for then-New York Mayor Rudi Giuliani's initial decision, later rescinded, against granting a permit for the Million Youth March.

The NBPP's deceased chairman, Khallid Abdul Muhammad, a former Nation of Islam leader who was once considered Louis Farrakhan's most trusted adviser, gave speeches referring to the "white man" as the "devil" and claiming that "there is a little bit of Hitler in all white people."

In a 1993 speech condemned by the U.S. Congress and Senate, Muhammad, lionized on the NBPP site, referred to Jews as "bloodsuckers," labeled the pope a "no-good cracker" and advocated the murder of white South Africans who would not leave the nation subsequent to a 24-hour warning.

All NBPP members must memorize the group's rules, such as that no party member "can have a weapon in his possession while drunk or loaded off narcotics or weed," and no member "will commit any crimes against other party members or black people at all."

The Institute for Canadian Values began a petition to prevent government officials from updating grade school sex education curriculum with content that could “confuse” children about their sexual orientation and other LGBT topics that it deems are inappropriate.

The Stop Corrupting Children campaign has released ads against a new sex ed curriculum, which was originally introduced and removed in 2010 due to outrage from parents. According to their website, the curriculum, which is being “reworked by officials, is still on the table and would include topics like sexual orientation in the third grade, masturbation in the sixth and anal intercourse in the seventh.

The curriculum is being pushed by Ontario’s Premier Dalton McGuinty and Transportation Minister Kathleen Wynne, who was previously the Minister of Education. According to an article by Life Site News, Wynne said that education is the most important” means of tackling “homophobia” among today’s youth.

Life Site News continues with McGuinty stating in July that Catholic schools incorporating homosexual clubs is “not a matter of choice”:

While the Catholic schools have complied by moving to introduce “anti-bullying” clubs focused on sexual orientation, Wynne told Xtra she was “very disappointed” by the refusal of Catholic school boards’ to allow gay-straight alliances. She said, however, that she expects the boards “will all come around.”
“It’s not going away. The expectation is that they will have an equity and inclusive education policy and will allow students to form these groups to have these discussions in every school board in the province,” she said.
Wynne said it is “non-sense” for the Catholic schools to implement clubs that avoid using the term ‘gay’.

According to CBC News last year, McGuinty stepped back from the curriculum saying, “It’s become pretty obvious to us that we should give this a serious rethink.” At that time, opponents claimed victory. But, as Stop Corrupting Children reports, government officials are moving forward with revising the original curriculum.

Well folks, this is just to the north of us. It makes my blood boil when the government wants to pollute our children's minds with such garbage. There is no reason for the schools to teach about homosexuality, Taking it up the but,(sodomy)..Kids have enough to learn without learning about being a pervert. Kids have a right to know what is right and what is wrong without learning about trash. Let kids be kids and then when they grow up to be adults they can make up their own minds about what is right about life. Government does not have the right to teach things that are pervert and goes against nature itself. The people that are in government positions should be fired and we should start all over again, with principles and values, an honest too goodness, reading, writing and arithmetic, now that is good teaching.
